Drywall & Painting Contractor
in Boulder, CO.

High-end custom homes, hillside lots, and some of the most demanding energy requirements on the Front Range. Boulder work rewards contractors who plan the finish before the board goes up.

What Boulder Projects Demand

Boulder is a custom market. The work we bid here skews toward architect-designed homes, substantial remodels of older stock near downtown and Chautauqua, and hillside builds where the site dictates the schedule as much as the drawings do. Very little of it is repeatable, and almost none of it forgives a rushed finish.

Three characteristics shape a Boulder drywall and paint scope more than anywhere else in the metro:

  • Glass, and a lot of it. Homes here are designed around the Flatirons view, which means broad west-facing glazing and afternoon sun raking across every wall in the great room. That is the single harshest test a drywall finish faces, and it is why we recommend a Level 5 finish on those elevations rather than defending a Level 4 later.
  • Stringent energy and green building requirements. The City of Boulder has long held some of the most demanding residential energy standards in Colorado. That drives thicker assemblies, more insulation, air-sealing details, and inspection sequencing that the drywall trade has to work around rather than through.
  • Constrained sites. Narrow lots, alley access, mature trees, and neighbors close enough to matter. Material staging and dust containment are planning problems here, not afterthoughts.

Where We Fit on a Boulder Build

On custom work the value of consolidating drywall, texture, and paint under one contract is not primarily about price — it is about accountability on a finish nobody will accept excuses about. When the architect specifies a smooth wall and the designer specs grasscloth on the entry, those two decisions have consequences for the substrate that need to be priced by the company that will be finishing it.

Remodels in Occupied Boulder Homes

A large share of Boulder work is remodel and addition rather than new construction, often with the family still living there. That changes the job: containment and negative air, floor and stair protection, texture matched to a wall built decades ago, and paint blended into an existing color that has faded unevenly since it was applied.

We treat texture matching as a sampling exercise rather than a guess — spray boards, vary the knockdown timing, and hold them against the existing wall in that room's own light before touching the real surface. On a remodel, an invisible transition is the entire deliverable.

Frequently Asked

Do you work in Boulder as well as Denver?

Yes. Boulder is part of our regular service area, and we bid custom homes, remodels, and additions there the same way we do in Denver — one contract covering drywall, texture, paint, and wallcovering.

Send plans and we will return a complete bid within 24 hours, including a room-by-room recommendation on where a Level 5 finish is genuinely warranted.

Can you handle the finish quality a Boulder custom home requires?

That is the work we are built for. Level 5 finishing with raking-light inspection, hand-troweled texture to an approved sample, timber and beam stain, and wallcovering over a properly prepped substrate.

The reason builders consolidate the scope with us on high-end work is that the finish argument disappears. One company hangs the board, finishes it, textures it, and coats it — so there is no gap between the taper and the painter to hide in.

How do you handle dust and access on tight Boulder lots?

With a containment plan made before mobilization rather than on the first morning. Poly containment and negative air where the work is inside an occupied home, floor and stair protection on the path in, and material staging worked out with the superintendent given the alley or street access available.

Drywall sanding and texture spraying produce far more airborne dust than most homeowners expect. On an occupied remodel, controlling it is as much a part of the scope as the finish itself.
